Located within 11km of the picturesque Bastide town of Eymet and 20km from the market town of Bergerac . A popular destination in the heart of the Dordogne. `The secret garden' comprises two gites 'la Peche' and 'la Poire' each converted to a high standard of accomodation and set within a large private garden. The garden contains an abundance of fruit trees including peach, pear, apple , cherry and plum. Wildlife particulary rabbit and deer are frequent visitors. A large lawn to the front of the farmhouse makes an ideal summer play area for the children and the ( 30' X 18' ) kidney shaped pool with it's easy stepped access is a must for all ages.

Accommodation - `La Peche ' on two floors. At ground level an 8mx4m(26'x13') open plan living space with limestone walls and beamed ceilings contains a large sofa and two easy chairs and a dining area with feature lighting. A well appointed kitchen with ceramic hob, under-oven, fridge and dishwasher. The main bathroom is located at this level and has a `wet room ' shower, washhand basin and wc. The master bedroom is located to the rear and has direct access to the bathroom. The iron bedstead has a quality latex matress for a comfortable nights sleep.A spacious triple bedroom is located on the first floor with an en suite toilet and wc. `La Poire' Again on two floors. The ground floor comprises a lounge area with large sofa and two easy chairs and is of traditional style with high beamed ceilings and whitewashed rendered walls with perimeter dado approx 4.5x4.2m(15'x14') with wood burning stove adjoining large kitchen diner and staircase to first floor. The kitchen constructed with solid pine doors has a ceramic hob, stainless style under oven and Hotpoint fridge freezer.At the rear of the property the master bedroom contains exposed limestone walls a superb restored tapered Perigord canopy and original tiled floor,a marbled top dressing table, period style furniture and lace curtains complete the experience. The first floor contains a bright new bathroom with tiled shower, wash hand basin and wc. A triple bedroom with individual beds and two windows completes the accommodation. Each living space gives access to the west facing terrace, pool and lawned garden. The proximity of the two units would provide an ideal holiday for the extended family or when accompanied by friends.

Whilst 'The Secret Garden' makes the perfect place for a relaxing holiday-there is much to explore in and around the immediate environs. Why not walk or cycle to the local villages of.. St Julien d'Eymet or even venture further affield.The City of Bordeaux, the Arcachon Basin and the Atlantic Coast can be found within 2hrs. The beautiful and historic towns of Sarlat, St Emillion, Perigeux and Beynac are within 1hr. A wide range of attractions are located within a 20min radius including the historic market town of Bergerac which sits astride the Dordogne with its museums, boat trips and shops: Golf, tenpin bowling, fishing, go-karting, canoeing, castles, markets vineyards and more!!

Travel BY ROAD - French roads are a delight but do avoid Paris in peak periods(24/7)...........BY AIR - Bergerac Airport is a 20min car journey whilst Bordeaux Airport can be reached in 1hr40min .

All prices are per week. A deposit of 25% is required with the booking , the balance payable 8 weeks before the start of your holiday. A damage bond of £100 is required on arrival and will be refunded within 7 days of your departure. All prices are inclusive of electricity and water during the summer season. Freshly laundered bedding and towels are provided together with a welcome pack of wine , milk, juice, bread and seasonal fruits. Please ensure that you take out comprehensive holiday insurance prior to your arrival. We are confident that you will enjoy your stay with us.
